PCC Women’s Basketball Drops Game in Second Half

The Pima Community College women’s basketball team (9-10, 5-5 in conference) dropped a tough one in its 72-63 loss against Cochise College on Wednesday at the West Campus’ Aztec Gym.

The Aztecs led by as much as 13 in the first half using an 8-0 run to go up 29-16 at one point. The Aztecs outscored Cochise 12-6 to open the second half and led 50-38. They would match the 12-point lead on two more occasions. Cochise would come back and hit 11 straight free throws down the stretch to close it out.

DJ Davis (Tolleson HS) led all Pima scorers with 11 points. Ashlei Scott (Chandler HS) finished with 10 points and A’jha Edwards (Tombstone HS) grabbed 10 rebounds.

The Aztecs will host Arizona Western College at the West Campus on Saturday at 2 p.m.
