Arizona Wildcat fans traveling to Las Vegas for the ‘Cats’ Dec. 20 game against Brigham Young University will not lose the tailgate experience they know and love.
Not if the Arizona Alumni Association has anything to say about it.
The University of Arizona Las Vegas Bowl Tailgate is free to all comers and will take place from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Sam Boyd Stadium. There will be live music, barbecue and a cash-only full bar.
Tickets cost $30 if purchased online before Dec. 17 at 5 p.m., or $40 after.
The cost of each barbecue includes a meal and two alcoholic drinks from the University of Arizona tailgate bar.
Also part of the festivities: the Pride of Arizona Marching Band, the Arizona Cheerleaders and Wilbur and Wilma Wildcat, all of whom will compete in a battle of the bands beginning at 4:30 p.m.

The game will also be broadcast on ESPN at 6 p.m.
For fans wanting an all-day sports-only experience, the UA men’s basketball team plays at UNLV at 1 p.m. the same day. The hoops team is coming off a 69-64 victory over previously unbeaten Gonzaga and will hope to extend its winning ways against the Runnin’ Rebels.
That game will also be available for viewing on the Versus Sports Network.
