The Las Vegas 51s knocked Tucson starter Matt Palmer out of the game in the fourth inning Saturday night in their 7-1 victory over the Padres. David Cooper went 2-for-5 with two RBI doubles for Las Vegas. Former San Diego Padres pitched Shawn Hill shut down the Padres, only allowing one run in eight innings of work. The lone Tucson run came on a Sawyer Carroll solo home run in the eighth inning.
The Tucson Padres are now on the Pacific Coast League All-Star Break and next play on Thursday, July 12 at 7:05 pm at Kino Stadium vs. Fresno (Giants affiliate).
