Wildcats to Participate in Tucson Padres First Pitch Ceremony on Thursday
The Tucson Padres are excited to announce the Arizona Wildcats championship baseball team will be well represented at tomorrow's Thirsty Thursday. Director of Athletics Greg Byrne, Head Baseball Coach Andy Lopez, and other members of the baseball team will be a part of our First Pitch Ceremony just before 7:00. The Tucson Padres will be playing the Colorado Springs Sky Sox (Triple-A team of the Colorado Rockies) at Kino Stadium, game time 7:05. Cory Burns, a Tucson Padres reliever and a recent member of the Wildcats team, will catch the First Pitch.
The NCAA National Baseball Championship trophy will be on display on the concourse throughout the entire game. Fans can bring their cameras and have pictures taken with the trophy. Ticket information will also be available for the upcoming University of Arizona Wildcats football season.
The Tucson Padres will let anyone wearing Wildcats apparel (shirt, hat, sunglasses, etc.) in for $4 for this Thursday’s Thirsty Thursday promotion – June 28. The regular GA price is $7. This is our normal college student price for Thursdays. Tickets can be purchased at the Padres Box Office. The regular 16 oz. Budweiser and Coke products will be available for only $1.50 starting at 6:00 pm when the gates open. Fans are encouraged to come out early to buy tickets…a large crowd is expected.
