One of Tucson’s favorite performers, vocalist Joe Bourne, is returning to DesertView Performing Arts Center in SaddleBrooke on Saturday, February 25 for a must-see 7:30 p.m. show titled Motown and Other Soul Gems.

Backed by the dynamic eight-piece R&B group Giant Blue and the sultry vocal stylings of Anna Warr, Bourne will lead you on a trip down memory lane with popular soulful rhythms from the sixties and seventies.

In a sneak preview of the performance, Bourne revealed some of the night’s nostalgic selections, including “How Sweet it Is,” “I Heard it Through the Grapevine,” “What’s Going On” and “My Girl.” Warr will contribute to the old-school theme with “Ain’t Too Proud to Beg,” “Son of a Preacher Man” and other hits from the bellbottom days.

Bourne has been thrilling audiences with his velvety baritone voice for decades, always offering an entertaining and lively performance. For 25 years he toured overseas, often sharing the stage with the same top American acts he now covers. He appeared on European television and won prestigious music awards such as Bulgaria’s Silver Orpheus.

Advance tickets, which are on sale to the general public, are $23 including tax and may be purchased through the DesertView website, http://tickets.saddlebrooketwo.com, or by calling 818-1000.

Tickets bought at the door will be $26 and availability is not guaranteed. DesertView Performing Arts Center is located at 39900 Clubhouse Drive in SaddleBrooke; see www.dvpac.net for directions.
