“Obamacare is taking away our freedoms!” I hear that constantly from people who make “Obamacare” sound like a swear word. And whenever I hear it I find myself asking, which of our sacred freedoms are being taken away?

In the United States, an estimated 1.5 million people have their ID stolen each year.

While President Barack Obama is calling today’s U.S. Supreme Court ruling to uphold the Affordable Healthcare Act a victory for the people, opponents of the law say it’s now up to the American people to stop it.

The effects of the economic downturn have been severe and affected all Americans in some way. Some people have lost jobs or suffered reductions in pay that now make it difficult to pay their bills. Some bought homes they could afford a few years ago, but now find themselves upside down in their mortgages.

Today I am ingesting and digesting the Court’s decisions. I am frankly both surprised and disappointed with John Roberts. He, in my opinion, basically re-wrote a law he was only supposed to judge. I am hearing all the spin from both sides of the argument and it is deafening. But I am not a seer. I cannot determine what the future holds any more than anyone else. I can only offer my thoughts and opinions.

It’s a major election year, and it’s hard not to focus on the big race. Who will be running our entire nation after November? Will it be Barack Obama for a second term, or will Republican Mitt Romney pull off the upset?
