Not only are these job creators up against the headwinds of a weak economy, but costly mandates and tax hikes enacted by the president and his allies in Congress are poised to crush their businesses and force many of their employees into the unemployment queue.

(BPT) - – Medical costs are the leading cause of bankruptcy in the U.S., according to crowdsourcing.org. So how do you help family and friends struggling with sometimes overwhelming expenses? For many, crowdsourcing websites are becoming an empowering source of financial support, with estimates that more than $2.8 billion will be raised by such sites this year.

Another California city has filed for protection under Bankruptcy. That makes three this year with another, Compton, set to file soon. Lest you believe this is solely a California problem, let me assure you many other cities and municipalities across this country are in similar situations. The reality is that their expenses exceed their revenue. With our recent economic downturn, property values have sunk along with sales tax receipts as fixed expenses have continued to grow. Contracts with public employee unions, including health care and retirement, continue unabated.

Most will take up running three times a week, maybe cut down on desserts for a while. But what if all of these measures have been taken to no avail? The Tucson Regional Economic Opportunities (TREO) organization has found itself in the public eye following a leadership exchange meeting to San Diego in May.

Most people don’t think they’ll ever suffer a life-altering disability. However, a 20-year-old worker has about a three in 10 chance of suffering a disability before reaching retirement age, according to the Social Security Administration. As people’s age increases, so does the likelihood of a disability forcing them out of the labor market. The average age of people receiving Social Security disability benefits is 53.

What makes my mother the best is that she has a heart the size of “A” Mountain.  I have never met a person so good at showing her love to her children. However, she has never had the financial means to keep up with her constant generosity.

Character is essentially about saying and doing the right things. Far too often we see politicians failing in both areas.
