1. OKLAHOMA BEGINS CLEARING TWISTER DEBRIS

On paper, J.J. Abrams’ 2009 “Star Trek” is one of those movies that should have crashed and burned. A reboot of a beloved franchise with younger, lesser-known actors stepping into the shoes of an iconic cast of characters. The fact that Abrams went on record stating that he was never a huge “Star Trek” fan didn’t bode well either. Against all odds, though, Abrams not only produced a great “Star Trek” picture, but quite possibly the best “Star Trek” ever made. That’s right, even better than “Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan.” 

With reports coming out of the Obama Administration tapping phones of reporters with the Associated Press, to the Benghazi controversy that will not die, to now having the Internal Revenue Service admit they targeted conservatives during the 2010 elections, President Barak Obama has his plate full.

A couple of weeks ago I read the editorial regarding the bombings in Boston and I was in sync with the expressions of sympathy and frustration as well as the exhortations to not let this cowardly attack keep us from leading our lives in as normal a fashion as possible.

Not long after the FBI identified the two suspects thought to be responsible for the bombing at the finish line of the Boston Marathon, one was killed in a gun fight with police, and another remains on the loose.

This Saturday morning All About Running and Walking is hosting a run from the store to remember and honor those who were injured or lost their lives this week in the tragedy at the Boston Marathon.

As news continued to come out Monday regarding the two explosions that took place at the 116th Boston Marathon, I, like many, hoped that it was a freak accident. While my heart was already going out to all those impacted, I held some hope that some building nearby had a problem, and while tragic, would answer the question of why.
