Despite the fate of Tucson water parks like Justin’s Water World and Sports Park, Breakers Water Park has continued to push through a tough economy to stay afloat in Tucson since 1985.

It will be sliding time again and time to wade into the waves May 23 when the 20-acre, nearly 20-year-old Breakers Water Park, 8555 W. Tangerine Road, opens for the summer season.

The hit parenting series AMERICA’S SUPPERNANNY is currently casting families for the next season of the show. An open casting call will be held at Breakers Water Park on Saturday, June 23 from noon to 4 p.m.

Breakers Water Park, the north Marana attraction, has added six six-foot inflatable spheres to its array of water fun.

The Marana Chamber of Commerce has announced its board of directors for the 2011-2012 fiscal year. The new chairman of the board is Steve Miklosi, general manager of the Breakers Water Park. Miklosi served as the chairman-elect during the previous fiscal year.  

"Summer's Last Splash," the annual fund-raiser for the Marana Foundation for Educational Excellence, is on the calendar for Sunday, Sept. 13.
