August 25, 2004 - Faculty members at Estes Elementary got a welcome surprise late in the summer when they learned Rocco Sugameli would be stepping in as principal of the school.

Doug Wilson, superintendent of the Marana Unified School District, was one of five guest speakers at a luncheon hosted last Thursday by the Marana Chamber of Commerce. Dec. 8, 2004 - DeGrazia Elementary School officials may face criminal charges for failing to immediately report a 5-year-old girl's statement that she'd been sexually abused by her father. It is the second instance this year when a Marana school has been investigated for failing to notify law enforcement of such an allegation.

Dec. 15, 2004 - Four employees of DeGrazia Elementary School were indicted by a grand jury Dec. 9 for failing to report to law enforcement a 5-year-old student's allegations of sexual abuse.

If voters approve a 15 percent maintenance and operations budget override on Tuesday, March 9, the Marana Unified School District won't be adding new programs and services.
