While being accused of making good on political payoffs, the Oro Valley Town Council voted 5 to 2 in favor of annexing the Town Hall campus into the Golder Ranch Fire District during its regular meeting July 21.

Oro Valley's Board of Adjustment, on a 3-2 vote Jan. 22 overrode the support of 14 neighbors for a woman seeking a change in the town's zoning code that would have allowed her to expand her riding school to teach the handicapped.

The Town of Marana has hired new economic development/strategic initiatives manager, Curt Woody. Woody started work on March 19, and with an annual salary of $75,000.

Citizens of Marana can expect to hear more from Marana Town Staff in the month of February. Staff will be officially revising its current Strategic Plan in March, but not before visiting civic centers, local businesses, and homeowners associations to receive input for what the Town is calling the Strategic Plan II.

The Town of Oro Valley was recognized for its fourth consecutive annual budget award from the Government Finance Officer’s Association for the 2011-2012 fiscal year.   

After successfully reaching an agreement with Pima County to assume control of the Marana Wastewater Reclamation Facility, the Town of Marana is planning $1 million in efficiency upgrades to the plant in the 2013/2014 fiscal year.
