The University of Arizona will be hosting a “Select-a-Seat” event for baseball fans on Saturday, Jan. 7. The event is being held to celebrate hosting the 2012 season at Hi Corbett Field.

Arizona Distance Classic co-founder Gregg Forszt is calling this year his “last hurrah” with the event before he retires from Ventana Medical Systems as the company’s director of facilities.

This weekend, the 2011 Major League Soccer Desert Cup featuring the New York Red Bulls and Sporting Kansas City will be the most important professional soccer event in Tucson’s history. This two-day event, March 4-5 at Hi Corbett Field, marks the first time MLS teams have ever played in the Old Pueblo.
