Ames Construction Inc. will be closing the train track crossing at Cortaro Road to perform construction for Union Pacific Railroad.

The Pima County Department of Transportation, Regional Transportation Authority (RTA) and their contractor, KE&G, will be shifting traffic as they continue improvements on the Cortaro Farms Road/Magee Road: Thornydale Road to Oracle Road Improvement Project.

A northbound train struck a yogurt-container laden tractor-trailer that had stopped on the tracks at Cortaro Farms Road and Interstate 10 on Saturday, Jan. 9.

Train tracks at Cortaro Road will be closed for 12 hours next weekend for construction.

A public hearing on the Cortaro Farms/Magee road project is being held Wednesday, July 14, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Northwest Campus of Pima Community College.
