As Arizona works to become one of the 47 states to implement Common Core Standards, the Marana School District to set procedures to have teachers ready to teach it in the 2013-2014 school year.

Earlier this month, two schools within the Marana Unified School District and one within the Amphitheater School District were recognized by the National Center for Educational Achievement (NCEA) as 2012 NCEA Arizona higher Performing Schools.

Marana School District officials were pleased with the results of last week’s special election, as voters approved the maintenance and operation override, which will result in $6.4 million in renewed funding.

The Marana Unified School District will conduct public forums for community members to learn about Proposition 400. This proposition requests voter authorization to continue the current 10-percent maintenance and operation budget override, approved in 2007.
