For most males born after the year 1970, entire chapters of childhood are in someway intertwined with the Star Wars universe. We have all levitated objects across the room with our make believe force capabilities, attempted to utilize jedi mind tricks to persuade our mothers that ice cream before bed was a good idea, and had heroic battles with vibrant buzzing lightsabers (that in reality, were made of gift wrap rolls).

On paper, J.J. Abrams’ 2009 “Star Trek” is one of those movies that should have crashed and burned. A reboot of a beloved franchise with younger, lesser-known actors stepping into the shoes of an iconic cast of characters. The fact that Abrams went on record stating that he was never a huge “Star Trek” fan didn’t bode well either. Against all odds, though, Abrams not only produced a great “Star Trek” picture, but quite possibly the best “Star Trek” ever made. That’s right, even better than “Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan.”

When most people think of George Lucas, they are hurtled along a prestigious history of inspiration, creation, and creativity the likes of which have sparked the imaginations of millions around the world. Lucas, and his entities LucasFilms and LucasArts, have been responsible for some of the most innovative and groundbreaking creations in the past decades. Both the Star Wars and Indiana Jones franchise empires were birthed from the mind of Lucas, and their successes have been nearly unparalleled in modern culture. The Lucas empire stretches beyond movies, though. While LucasFilms is responsible for the classic films we all know and love, LucasArts has been supplying the gaming world with games as impressive as the movies.
