Two schools in the Marana School District are no longer in lockdown, but police are still searching for a male subject who was seen with a handgun on school grounds.

On Jan. 13, at about 3:06 a.m., deputies with the Pima County Sheriff’s Department San Xavier District responded to a reported robbery at the Circle K store at 9810 South Nogales Highway.

On Dec. 12 at 10:47 p.m., Officers from Operations Division Midtown responded to the Domino’s Pizza located at 5460 East Speedway in reference to a report of a carjacking. The victim told 911 that a male suspect had taken his vehicle and wallet at gunpoint. A description of the vehicle was quickly broadcast to responding units. Moments later, an officer spotted the vehicle near the intersection of 5th Street and Alvernon Way. The officer activated his emergency equipment in an attempt to stop the vehicle. The suspect drove off at a high rate of speed at which time a pursuit was initiated with assistance from the Air Support Unit. The suspect continued to evade police, ran red lights and drove onto oncoming traffic several times in order to pass vehicles ahead of him. The vehicle drove through the front yard of a residence in the 500 block of North Treat, causing extensive damage to a light pole, a wrought iron fence and landscape. The chase continued and ultimately ended in an alley located north of Second Street and east of Stewart

At approximately 1:30 p.m. on Dec. 5, the Tucson Police Department was notified of a bank robbery that occurred at the Pyramid Federal Credit Union at 2850 North Country Club. Officers from Operations Division Midtown responded to the bank in order to initiate the investigation.

Oro Valley

On Friday, Nov. 16, at approximately 5:21 p.m., Deputy Nicholas Norris with the Pima County Sheriff’s Department Foothills District conducted a traffic stop on a four door sedan in the area of Oracle Road and Prince Road. Both vehicles were stopped in a business parking lot in the northeast quadrant of the intersection.

Two suspects are wanted by the Tucson Police Department for armed robbery that resulted in serious injuries to a female victim.

On Saturday morning around at 7:26 a.m., the Tucson Police Department received to a 911 call from the Valencia Garden Apartments located at 190 West Valencia Road.

In August of 2012, the Counter Narcotics Alliance received information of marijuana sales from a business called “Shop 420”. The business advertised as a “Medical Marijuana Certification Center”, offering education and consulting in regards to the Medical Marijuana Act. The business had five locations: four in Tucson and one location in Casa Grande. The month-long investigation revealed that the business was illegally growing and selling marijuana. On September 12, 2012, the Counter Narcotics Alliance, with assistance from the Tucson Police Community Response Teams, served search warrants at the following “Shop 420” locations:

At approximately 7:07 p.m. on August 11, 2012 the Tucson Police Department received a 911 call regarding a shooting incident that occurred at a residence in the 900 Block of West Calle Colado.

On Saturday, July 7 at 2:30 a.m. the Marana Police Department responded to Canyon Community Bank, on Silverbell Road, reference a business alarm.

Counter Narcotics Alliance investigators discovered an elaborate indoor marijuana growing operation at a residence located in the 5300 block of W. El Camino del

Yesterday at approximately 11 a.m., Marana Police officers responded to 3951 W Ina Rd., Check Into Cash in reference to an armed robbery.

On May 17, 2012 at approximately 3:50 a.m., deputies from the Foothills District responded to an armed robbery at the Quik Mart located at 3250 W. Cortaro Farms Road. Two suspects, at least one of them armed with a handgun, entered the Quik Mart to rob the convenience store. When deputies arrived a search was conducted; however, the suspects were not located.

The Oro Valley Police Department responded to the PetSmart at 10000 block of N. Oracle Rd. in reference to an armed robbery, around 8:40 p.m. Thursday night.
