finalized a merger agreement last Tuesday, Sept. 9.

November 8, 2006 - Saying they will provide service at a tax
rate lower than their neighbors, three small Northwest fire
districts have signaled their intent to merge.

June 21, 2006 - Fire Districts in the Northwest are entering a
new era of expansion. As special taxing districts paid for through
by secondary property tax, swallowing up new territory means a
larger tax base from which to pay for new fire stations,
firefighters, and fire engines, all of which lead to better service
for their taxpayers.

Dec. 29, 2004 - The Northwest Fire/Rescue District is currently
putting together a proposal for service for the Heritage Hills Fire
District governing board. However, officials from both
organizations said it's premature to say Heritage Hills has any
plans to change its fire service provider.
