On May 7, members of the Marana Unified School District Governing Board held an annual banquet honoring the top ten graduating seniors from Marana High School and Mountain View High School.

Earlier this month, Irma Sankman, who is on the board of Friends of the Oro Valley Public Library, and artist Gail Munden, left, dedicated the newest art addition to the Oro Valley Library. Munden created the artwork on the wall behind them to include names of people who have donated to and supported the library.

August 31, 2005 - Passing Jennifer Atteberry-Pierpont in the hallways of Canyon Del Oro High School, it is easy to mistake her for a student. Her youthful energy, vibrant personality and bright smile make her blend into a sea of students. Maybe that is one of the reasons this 24-year-old was recognized as being one of the best and brightest newcomers to the teaching profession.

The Town and Northwest Fire District yesterday honored the late Jack Horton with a memorial dedication at the district’s station in North Marana. Horton was a hard-working business owner in the community who also served as a Town Councilmember and volunteer firefighter.

My mother is without a doubt the best mom I have ever met and I have met a lot of mothers. For over 30 years I worked in an average of 6 homes a day, 5 days a week. That’s a lot of homes and a lot of moms! (Over 45,000! Of course some were repeats, so an exact number is impossible.)
