The Elks National Foundation’s Most Valuable Student (MVS) Scholarship Program recognizes top students across the country based on their academic achievements, leadership skills, extracurricular activities, and their participation in community services. 

Twelve winning writers and twelve illustrators from around the globe—including Joshua Meehan of Anchorage Alaska—will be honored during the 29th Annual L. Ron Hubbard Achievement Awards at the famed Wilshire Ebell Theatre, on Sunday, April 14th, 2013 beginning at 6:30 pm.

The Ironwood Ridge High School actors took on the challenging task of performing the Disney musical “Beauty and the Beast” this spring.  The challenges they had to contend with were numerous with extensive costuming, choreography, complex scenery, and musical ranges. Opening night put all those challenges to rest, and their efforts in all these categories were nothing short of stellar.

The Golder Ranch Fire District was created in 1977 by a vote of the residents in the area. The homeowners wanted to have a voice in their fire and medical care and at the same time, monitor costs. Today, the district serves a 210 square mile area with a population of nearly 65,000 residents. Included in the district are the communities of Oro Valley, Catalina, SaddleBrooke and southern Pinal County.
