On December 28, 2012, the Oro Valley Police Department (OVPD) responded to the 10000 block of North Mavinee Drive (Arizona Self-Storage) in reference to several storage facilities being burglarized. During this burglary, over $60,000 of victims’ personal items were taken. The case was turned over to OVPD Criminal Investigations Unit, where it was discovered that brothers Elmer Upchurch (DOB 06/13/85) and Jack Upchurch (DOB 07/11/84) may be involved in this crime.

On Tuesday, the Foothills Optimist Club presented a $2,000 check to the Town of Marana to support the community's swim program for disadvantaged youth.

Starting next month, several Northwest-area county library branches will offer the United Way Earned Income Tax Credit Task Force-VITA and AARP tax preparation assistance programs geared for low- and middle-income individuals and families.

Marana Founders’ Day Festival is all set for this weekend. The four-day festival is filled with carnival rides, live entertainment, a parade, an arts and crafts fair, and two special events presented by the Marana Heritage Conservancy.

June 29, 2005 - As the town of Marana gears up for the multitude of games, musical performances and fireworks featured annually at its Independence Day celebration, it can expect the same tradition with a few minor changes to its music and more open space in the sixth annual gala.
