Members of the Marana Police Department, Drug Enforcement Agency and the U.S. Border Patrol carried the torch from Tangerine Road and Interstate 10 to the Pinal County line, where Department of Public Safety members started their leg of the relay.

  8. Residents awed by new road

    Randy Metcalf/The Explorer, One the morning of June 25, Marana Mayor Ed Honea takes the ceremonial first ride with Operations and Maintenance Director Mike Mencinger in his father’s 1957 Corvette on Tangerine Farms Road, which will connect that part of town directly with Interstate 10. Many turned out to see town officials cut the ribbon, marking the road officially open, and were treated to snow cones, cookies and drinks.

  9. article OVPD seeks assistance in locating burglary suspect

    On December 28, 2012, the Oro Valley Police Department (OVPD) responded to the 10000 block of North Mavinee Drive (Arizona Self-Storage) in reference to several storage facilities being burglarized. During this burglary, over $60,000 of victims’ personal items were taken. The case was turned over to OVPD Criminal Investigations Unit, where it was discovered that brothers Elmer Upchurch (DOB 06/13/85) and Jack Upchurch (DOB 07/11/84) may be involved in this crime.
