Marana student leaders are looking to make a difference in their schools, having recently participated in the Bonstingl Leaders for the Future 2012 Marana Youth Leadership Summit on Thursday.

Earlier this month, Arizona Youth Partnership (AzYP), Interfaith Community Services (ISC) and Open Doors Community School celebrated their joint-operation in Marana with an open house and a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Teams of student leaders from a Marana intermediate school and six Marana elementary schools will present their final project during the conclusion of the Marana Youth Leadership Summit on Thursday, Oct. 18, at 9:30 a.m. at Twin Peaks Elementary School, 7995 W. Twin Peaks Rd, Tucson 85741.

On Oct. 1, the common area of Marana High School was filled with hundreds of students all dressed in blue. The sounds of popping balloons echoed off the walls, students laughed and ate ice cream all while music blasted through speakers.
