This week’s Oro Valley Council meeting could be interesting, as it appears council members Mike Zinkin and Bill Garner finally got their way on the main agenda item. It appears the council will be discussing Oro Valley Police Chief Danny Sharp’s reporting structure in a public meeting.

The Foothills Optimist Club, for the eighth year, has donated money to the Marana Pool program by providing free passes to underserved youth.

It’s girl’s week out, since nearly 300 high school girls from across Arizona converged on the University of Arizona campus for the 66rd session of The American Legion Auxiliary premier program, Arizona Girls State. This “unique” opportunity is open to girls completing their junior year of high school that meet the necessary qualifications. This year’s session began June 2-8; attending from Pusch Ridge Christian Academy were: Delaney Halvey and Madeline LaMear; from Canyon Del Oro HS; Melissa Silva and Noelle Smith.

Oro Valley Town Council was faced with a difficult decision last Wednesday when it considered allowing a modification to a conservation easement for an undeveloped residential lot located in the Sunridge II subdivision between Tangerine and Moore roads, east of La Cañada Drive.
