    The Northwest Fire/Rescue District has been recognized by the Arizona Department of Health Services as a Premier Emergency Medical System Agency. The designation is a result of the District’s outstanding performance in four key areas, including documenting agency leadership commitment, developing a quality assurance (QI) program, ensuring that data are fed back into the QI program to inform the analysis and improvement of patient care and collecting and submitting electronic patient care records (ePCR) as a participant in the AZ-PIERS program. In addition, the District has made major strides in instituting a more efficient medication replacement program, Evidence-Based Medical Operations, Minimally Interrupted Cardio Resucitation (MICR) and EMS Equipment Standardization.

Grant funds will be used to enhance to NWFD’s Training Facility with the addition of an “Incident Command Simulation Center” that uses computer training equipment to create virtual fire scenes.
