For the first time in more than 40 years, graduating University of Arizona Wildcats will gather at Arizona Stadium to celebrate their transition from hardworking students to proud alumni.

Pima Community College Performing Arts presents the exuberant jukebox musical comedy "All Shook Up" inspired by and featuring the songs of Elvis Presley, with book by Joe Dipietro. Enthusiastically brought to the stage by the creative team of Todd Poelstra, director; Mickey Nugent, choreographer; Nancy Davis Booth, music director; and Dr. Mark Nelson, pit orchestra conductor.

Mickey Nugent, who’s directed or choreographed more than 100 shows from New York to California, is the new drama teacher at Green Fields County Day School.

In an interview shortly after accepting the head coaching job at Pima Community College, ex-Canyon del Oro coach Pat Nugent said he wanted Tucson to “get involved with, and excited about, Pima football.”

When head coach Pat Nugent left the Canyon Del Oro football program after nine years to take over at Pima Community College, he took a record of 72-30 and a state title appearance with him.

When a football coach’s first official day at a new job involves sitting in a windowless room answering three hour’s worth of press questions over the steady buzz of fluorescent lights, it’s a pretty good indicator the pressure is on.

Pat Nugent, head coach of Canyon del Oro’s powerful football program for eight years, is being recommended to become the first full-time football coach at Pima Community College by chancellor Dr. Roy Flores.

“Home, sweet home” always sounds pretty nice.

For the second straight year, Canyon del Oro’s football Dorados showed no quit Friday, coming back and “giving ourselves a chance to win,” coach Pat Nugent said.

For about 6-1/2 minutes of football Friday night, the Prescott Badgers looked like they might have Canyon Del Oro’s number, taking a 7-0 lead.
