On Monday, Nov. 18, at about 8 p.m., the Oro Valley Police Department responded to the 7900 block of North Oracle Road in response to an accident involving a 31-year-old female. The female victim was assisting a friend with attempting to repair a truck. During this process, she indadvertedly shifted the car into reverse, and it knocked her down and backed over her. According to witnesses, the then-driverless car continued in reverse in a circular path, striking the victim two more times. The victim, who is identified as Nichole McAlister, was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced deceased. The OVPD Criminal Investigations Unit is continuing with this investigation.
