The Pima County Sheriff’s Department Bomb Squad unit is investigating a suspicious package at the Northwest Fire Station on Ina Road.

On Sunday, June 9, Pima County Deputies from the San Xavier District responded to three suspicious fires, which started within a thirty-minute time frame.

The Arizona Supreme Court ruled Thursday that the constitutional protections on searches and seizures means that voluntary consent of a person accused of DUI is needed to justify a blood draw by police without a warrant.

Emergency crews were called to a two-vehicle rollover at 7:52 a.m. Thursday. The accident occurred west of the intersection at the westbound entrance to the Children's Adventure Learning Center.

On May 22, at approximately 9:16 pm, deputies with the Pima County Sheriff’s Department Foothills District initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle in the Walgreens parking lot at River Road and La Canada Drive. 

Northwest Fire District units along with an Engine from the Mountain Vista Fire District responded to Thornydale Road just south of Linda Vista Blvd just after 9:30pm after 9-1-1 calls were received indicating multiple pedestrians had been struck by a vehicle.

The Pima County Board of Supervisors approved a tentative $1.27 billion budget for next fiscal year that maintains service levels despite ongoing reductions in revenues.

On Sunday, five hikers on Linda Vista Trail in Oro Valley were attacked by a swarm of bees.

Northwest Fire District firefighters responded to 2002 W. Gardner Lane at 0100 after 9-1-1 calls were received reporting a mobile home on fire. Deputies from the Pima County Sheriff’s Department on patrol in the area arrived just before fire crews and attempted to make entry into the mobile home to check for the victim, but were driven back by the heavy smoke and fire.

The Oro Valley Police Department would like to inform the public about a telephone scam involving the impersonation of a police officer.

Northwest Fire District firefighters responded to the Honey baked Ham store located at 7090 N. Oracle road at 0538 after an automatic fire alarm activation was received. The first arriving engine company arrived within 6 minutes to find an audible alarm sounding, flooding from the front door from the automatic sprinkler systems that had been activated and smoke also coming from the entry way. A full alarm was requested which brought three additional engine companies, a ladder company and support units to the scene.

Northwest Fire District firefighters and paramedics were called to the 8200 block of North Equator Loop just before midnight after receiving a 9-1-1 call indicating that a small child had been found in the backyard swimming pool. The home is near Cortaro Farms and Oldfather Roads. The initial 9-1-1 call was received at 11:43pm. Bystanders reported that the child was pulled from the pool where CPR instructions were given from 9-1-1 dispatchers until Northwest Fire crews arrived 4 minutes later.

On March 18, 2013, at approximately 10:00 p.m., deputies with the Pima County Sheriff’s Department Foothills District responded to the Bank of America near Thornydale Road and Linda Vista Boulevard. The initial report indicated that a female victim had been robbed at knifepoint.

On April 14, at approximately 1:42 a.m., deputies with the Pima County Sheriff’s Department Foothills District responded to the Circle K at 5365 North La Cholla Boulevard reference a theft report.

During the past few days, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department has received multiple reports about attempted fraud where the caller tells the victim they are with the police.
