Over the next several months we will be spotlighting various homes and subdivisions in Rancho Vistoso, but we thought we would kick things off with an overview.  

The Oro Valley Town Council at its Aug. 1 meeting "went back to square one" on changes to the General Plan for development in Neighborhoods 11 and 12 of Rancho Vistoso by retreating from a decision it made just two weeks earlier.

Sept. 29, 2004 - The near tripling of costs facing Rancho Vistoso golf courses as they switch from ground water to effluent to water their courses next summer could have a major effect not only on the price of playing but on plans for the construction of future courses.

March 23, 2005 - Some jokes take on a life of their own.

Objecting to the size and location of recreation areas in a proposed development of nearly 500 homes on 170 acres, the Oro Valley Town Council at its March 19 meeting directed Vistoso Partners to come back with a plan that will make those areas larger and safer.

Put on every other year, the variety show in Sun City Vistoso features a cast and crew of nearly 100 people. All came together this year to help produce a two-hour show called “Do You Remember These?”

After nearly two years of considerations, changes and postponements, a general plan amendment affecting a wide swath of Rancho Vistoso has gained the approval of the Oro Valley Town Council.

Oro Valley's police will get at least some of the extra pay they've been asking for and Vistoso Partners will get more open space to build on in Rancho Vistoso's Stone Canyon, based on actions taken by the Town Council during a marathon meeting June 19.

Vistoso Partners has withdrawn its request to have Neighborhood 12 of its Rancho Vistoso development annexed into Oro Valley and is turning instead to Pima County to approve its development plans.
