Over the next several months we will be spotlighting various homes and subdivisions in Rancho Vistoso, but we thought we would kick things off with an overview.  

Century Theatres

On May 17, 2013 at approximately 5 p.m., the Oro Valley Police Department responded to the Bank of America in the 12000 block of north Rancho Vistoso in reference to a bank robbery.

If it looks fishy, it probably is. 

“Age of Champions” is the inspiring story of a group of athletes—a 100-year-old tennis champion, 86-year-old pole vaulter, team of basketball grandmothers, and the two swimming brothers— all chasing gold at the National Senior Games. The film captures the triumphant spirit of these competitors as they tackle the challenges of old age with grace, humor, and optimism. Win or lose, they inspire us all to follow our dreams and find purpose at any stage of life.

This Saturday morning All About Running and Walking is hosting a run from the store to remember and honor those who were injured or lost their lives this week in the tragedy at the Boston Marathon.

In a 5-2 vote, Oro Valley Town Council enacted an ordinance on Wednesday that will allow the sale and consumption of alcohol at Steam Pump Ranch for special events.

On Dec. 20, 2012, I went to Rancho Vistoso Urgent Care, Oro Valley, for flu symptoms. I went in and verified my insurance, prepared to pay my copay. I was told that wasn’t necessary. I would be billed. Wristband and no copay – new procedures from the previous 7 years I’ve been visiting this facility.

MOVIES

For several years, as our nation struggled through a downturned economy, the Town of Oro Valley also experienced a sharp decrease in development activity. Although we are still on the mend, a quick look back to fiscal year 2011-12 shows that development is on the rise, and there are some very exciting projects in the pipeline.

Seminar attendees will learn the basics of using Facebook to stay more closely connected with the people you care about. The information will be presented clearly, with visual guides, and questions are encouraged during the presentation. There is no cost for attending the seminar, and attendees are encouraged to bring friends. All participants must RSVP to Splendido to reserve their seats. RSVP by calling 878-2612.
