MR. CARNEY: Thanks for joining us on this quick trip to New York City. You heard, obviously, the President today in his press conference with the Prime Minister. So I hope that you found that helpful and useful, but I am here also to take your questions. Anybody have anything?

(BPT) - There’s nothing like the smell of a home-cooked meal wafting through the kitchen for hours and hours – that is, if you have time to prepare such a meal. Since most of us don’t have that sort of time on a daily basis, many time-pressed cooks are rediscovering pressure cooking: an age-old cooking method that makes mealtime fast and easy.

The board at Continental Ranch continues to abuse their power by breaking yet another rule. Our governing documents clearly state that each house in the development is a “Member.” Each Member has only one vote in the elections, regardless of how many owners that house may have. Yet, we have two board members who own one house (only) and yet both serve on the board! So, they only have one vote in the elections, but two votes on the board! When I attempted to reason with the board’s Mesa lawyer (yes, he’s from Mesa, not Tucson!!!) the essence of his response was that they won the election, so we should just live with it, kind of like the Obama Administration (I have no idea what Obama has to do with this issue).

Today’s children grow up in a vastly different technological world than that of their parents or grandparents. While you may fondly recall a favorite storybook stored on your nightstand, many kids today are reading using their parent’s smartphone or tablet. Digital devices are becoming a regular part of a child’s life, and parents should understand what this means for how kids learn and grow.

"Oblivion” is another movie that seems better suited for a video game than a motion picture. Watching the characters engage in endless shoot outs and explore vast, abandoned terrains, all you want to do is get your hands on a controller. Since a movie is unequipped with game play, though, you’re forced to sit back and merely observe the story. Then again, most modern video games have more three-dimensional characters and smarter plots than “Oblivion.” This science fiction mystery from director Joseph Kosinski isn’t completely without some good ideas, elevating it above “Transformers” schlock. It’s just unfortunate those ideas never meld into anything that intriguing.

(BPT) - “Do as I say, not as I do,” has never been an exemplary parenting style. As childhood obesity has more than doubled over the past 30 years, the need for an active lifestyle has never been greater. If parents make fitness a priority, chances are their kids will too.

(BPT) - Many U.S. military veterans like retired Air Force Technical Sergeant David Masters of Omaha, Neb. have bravely fought for their country only to return home to wage another battle against Lou Gehrig’s Disease. No one knows why, but veterans are twice as likely to develop this fatal disease, clinically known as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).

Are you one of the residents living in Continental Ranch who was shocked to see your Waste Management bill this past March double? Yes?...maybe…but only if you are a person who is disabled, alone and unable to put out your own trash without the help of WM. Why did this happen to those of us who are disabled? John Lambert created this problem for the disable community. You had your bill soar…mine was upped from $47.88 to $87.16. All other resident’s bills in CRCA remained as they were.

On Sunday, an unusual day for a court to be held in Ohio, a judge found two high school football players guilty of rape. In what became a short trial that divided the football-crazed Rust Belt town of Steubenville, Trent Mays, 17, and Ma’lik Richmond, 16, were found guilty of raping a drunk 16-year-old girl.

Even as billions of dollars are spent on modern pharmaceutical research, some people opt for herbal supplements as their primary health treatment or prevention plan. There are varying opinions on using herbs for medical purposes. Regardless of where your medical advice comes from, many people believe that these natural treatments can have major effects on the body, which can vary depending on your diet and prescription intake. It’s important to know how popular herbs are used and their limitations to determine whether they could fit into your health regimen.

The opinions against David Safier and the partisan column by Senator Al Melvin show how much work must be done to restore our State to a Democratic form of government, a Republic, a government of, by and for the majority of the people. That is what David Safier was celebrating. I am at a loss to identify anything Senator Al Melvin has voted for to help Pima County residents. He is proud to carry out the agenda of his Republican friends in Phoenix. We voted for a tax increase to be used for education. Melvin voted to put the money in the General Fund. When Melvin talks of schools, he is talking about private schools, which can be owned by individuals for a profit. It they fail, the owner can keep all the school capital assets paid for by tax monies. Melvin also voted to deny Pima County its share for the Regional Transportation Authority money and to allow the recall of the Rio Nuevo development funds. Using his “hit woman”, Terry Proud, Melvin so intimidated the Redistricting Board, that he assured his re-election by getting an 11 to 16 point advantage against other candidates for his job.

(NAPSI)—Stroke is a leading cause of death and serious long-term disability in the U.S., killing more than 133,000 people each year. Unfortunately, many Americans do not recognize the signs of stroke, ignore their symptoms or do not call 9-1-1. But for those with firsthand knowledge of what a stroke entails, the results can be very different.

Typically, liberal progressives rally away from facts and towards the use of standard sound-bytes to make their case. Why didn’t Mr. Safier include Jimmy Carter in all his applauds. Long gas lines, extreme interest rates and failed foreign policies, those were certainly bold plans.

Having grown up in California, I went to Disneyland countless times as a child. I remember fondly trudging out of the park after a long, exciting day—my Mickey-shaped balloon bobbing along as we went. That was back when you could drive right up the front gate and walk right back to your car when the fun had all been had. Long before the days of parking trams and security checkpoints to get into the Happiest Place on Earth. I spent so much time at Disneyland and made so many memories that not all of them are good ones.
