The Oro Valley Town Council approved $30,000 in expenditures to improve the audio system in council chambers, and pay for improvements to the municipal swimming pool, during its Nov. 2 regular meeting.

Many seniors have been out of the work force for years and because of economic pressures feel compelled to return to the workplace in order the make ends meet. However, it isn’t simply a matter of browsing the help wanted ads, making a few calls, setting up interviews and actually landing a job; that’s doable for many retirees. Things have changed in the workplace over the years, and being able to break old habits and fit in with younger coworkers may be the toughest challenge of all.

On Sunday, March 27 at 3:30 p.m., Oro Valley police responded to the Walmart store on Oracle and Tangerine roads after store employees reported an incident of shoplifting. Employees saw a man take a laptop computer charger into the store restroom and later attempt to leave the store with the item concealed in his bag. The man appeared to have wrapped the laptop charger in aluminum foil before stuffing it into his bag. The item was valued at $80. Police arrested the man for shoplifting and an outstanding misdemeanor warrant. He was taken to Pima County Adult Detention Center.

Residents of Oro Valley might consider a compilation of photographs, locations and information about the community's public art to be "a coffee table book that relates to where they live," according to artist, photographer and compiler Gail Munden.

Lawyers for Oro Valley have issued a response to a lawsuit that alleges town employees denied a plaintiff his due process rights in a building renovation application.

In a lawsuit filed in Pima County Superior Court, a plaintiff claims that Oro Valley officials denied him due process by hiding, modifying and refusing to review building plans he submitted.
