Ames Construction Inc. will be closing the train track crossing at Cortaro Road to perform construction for Union Pacific Railroad.

Construction continues on a box culvert where La Cañada Boulevard crosses the Pegler Wash north of Magee Road. Construction along La Cañada is expected to be completed in 2011.

Construction continues at the site for the BASIS Charter School in Oro Valley, located off of Oracle Road, just north of Steam Pump Ranch. The school is expected to be open for classes this coming school year.

Of all the road construction projects currently planned or underway in Marana, town engineers knew from the get go that improvements to Cortaro Road, the main thoroughfare leading to and from the burgeoning Continental Ranch subdivisions, would be a difficult hurdle.
