A man was shot by Pima County Sheriff's deputy early Sunday morning after responding to a domestic violence call on the Northwest side.

April 6, 2005 - Golf was the name of the game March 24 and 25 at El Rio Golf Course as several Northwest and Foothills junior golfers excelled in the Tucson Spring Classic. More than 80 boys and girls took part in the two-day event. Mountain View High School senior Steffen Hartwig took home a third-place finish in the boys championship round, shooting a 71 on the second day to finish at 146. Kyle Werbylo, a junior at Canyon del Oro High School, also shot a 146 to finish second in the boys 15-18 regular division. On the girls' side of the tee box, Laura McHugh of Catalina Foothills High School won her field in the girls 15-18 regular division, edging out Geneva Mackey of MVHS by a single stroke and Foothills teammate Sage Suffecool by three.

Pima County Sheriff's detectives are searching for clues into the killing of a man on the Northwest side.

Insistent knocking followed by a swath of harsh, midday sun cuts through the calm of the building's cool, dark interior as the heavy steel door opens. It swings shut again with a thud.
