Transit services, including Sun Tran, Sun Van and Sun Shuttle, will operate on a regular weekday schedule during Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday, Jan. 21. With the exception of Lost & Found, all other services will be in operation as regularly scheduled:

Sun Tran buses will operate on a Sunday schedule and Sun Shuttle or Sun Express routes will not be in operation on Thursday, November 22, in observance of Thanksgiving Day.

Ride Sun Tran’s UA Football Shuttle to the South Carolina State game and arrive in front of Arizona Stadium on 6th Street just steps from the entrance. Passengers can park and ride from Hi Corbett Field located at 22nd Street and Randolph Way. Passengers are encouraged to park on the east side of the baseball field. Be prepared for long lines and wait.

Arizonans love their cars, but is the love affair reaching its end?

Passengers using Sun Tran, Tucson’s fixed route system, and Sun Van, the comparable paratransit system are now paying higher fares.  At a public hearing held April 12, the City of Tucson mayor and council voted to approve a transit fare increase, intended to generate $1.3 million in revenue to help close a projected budget gap for the City of Tucson in fiscal year 2012.

In a 6-1 vote April 20, the Oro Valley Town Council voted to eliminate its Coyote Run transit system. The program’s final day is June 30.
