Top rated television shows should not get cancelled. The viewer’s tune in because they like the show. Jay Leno didn’t cause the demise of Conan O’Brien’s show; the viewers did by changing the channel. Jimmy Fallon is very talented, but it remains to be seen if the younger viewers will watch the show and support the sponsors. It’s a gamble for NBC and The Tonight Show.

The 63-year-old host of “The Tonight Show” will ride off into the sunset on Feb. 6, leaving behind a legacy that will last well beyond his years. Young “Late Show” host Jimmy Fallon is waiting in the “Tonight Show” bullpen, currently slated to take the reins of America’s number one talk show.

Jay Leno, known by many as the face of The Tonight Show, one of the most famous late-night talk shows in the nation, will soon be looking for a new job. Just a few days ago, executives at NBC announced their intentions of not only cutting Leno from his well established place as the host of The Tonight Show, a position he has held since 1992, but that Leno will be replaced with another familiar comedic face. Jimmy Fallon, famous for his work on Saturday Night Live and Light Night with Jimmy Fallon, has been announced to be Jay Leno's replacement as the host of The Tonight Show next year.

Kathleen Madigan, who has been deemed by her peers as “the
funniest woman comic in America,” didn’t disappoint when she
visited The Rialto Theater on Feb. 17. The stop was one of many in
her nationwide tour lasting through Oct. 13, when Madigan returns
to her hometown of St. Louis for a final act.
