Oro Valley's annual Arts in the Park festival has garnered
national recognition over the years for the quality and variety of
its artisans and entertainment.

He'll perform Sunday, April 11, with the group Mood Swing.

Between September and December 2012, a group of 86 talented and critically engaged sixth-grade students from Alice Vail Middle School investigated the ways in which visual culture informs our perceptions of gender, the persuasive power of ecological art, and the reflective nature of art making. This exhibition validates and honors the voices of these students and the power of art integration.
Opening reception from 3-4:30 p.m. May 15.

Last week, the Southern Arizona Arts and Cultural Alliance (SAACA) showed appreciation to artists and partnerships they have formed during an annual gala. However, while accepting the awesome appreciation award on behalf of The Explorer, I was thinking there needs to be more appreciation shown to SAACA for the work they do every year to keep the arts alive and well in the Tucson region.

At the age of 5, Joshua Meehan discovered he had a gift for making art. When he turned 12, he knew he wanted to turn that gift into a profession. Now 23, Meehan is one of 12 winners of the 29th Annual L. Ron Hubbard Illustrators of the Future Contest, making his dream a reality.
